Benefiting the Milford-based non-profit Five Points of Hope cancer care fund, the tournament features cash prizes, a pizza and salad dinner, a live dessert auction and raffles.
Pre-register for $25 at the charity’s website, www.fivepointsofhope.com, or pay $35 at the door, based upon availability. Pizza dinner only is $10. Table sponsorships are available for $150 and include four Euchre/dinner tickets and a table named for your business or family.
Euchre for Hope is sponsored by 2 Moms and a Mop of Milford and NV Technical, a Houston, Texas, business owned by Michiganders with a huge heart for their state’s cancer patients.
Five Points of Hope raises money exclusively for Michigan cancer patients in financial crisis. Social workers request grants from the charity to help financially-strapped patients pay for essentials such as insurance deductibles, medical equipment, prescriptions and utility bills. The charity began raising money for a cancer care fund in 2001 as a memorial to founder Erin Welsh’s father Michael McCusker, who died of cancer in 1999, and in celebration of life for a family friend Beth, who is a cancer survivor. The organization achieved non-profit status in 2007 and continues to be operated entirely by volunteers with no paid staff. In 2018 the charity granted over $70,000 in financial assistance to 165 deserving Michigan cancer patients.
